I don't know about your Walmart, but we just had a new guy who started in my dept. (electronics) in late Feb.  How he stayed employed I'll never know.  He was everything you'd ever heard about a bad employee.  In the 4 months or so he was there, he had 7 no-call no-shows, 12 absences, and 14 lates.  He never learned 1 thing about using a Texlon, and never took a cyber-scholar.  He would waste time like no one I ever saw, and would get "lost" in the store. (We found him staring at fish, actually trying to mix paint for someone, etc.)  He knew NOTHING about anything (except Xbox 360's) He was never fired or coached.   Upon his review, he was told that he should start to improve!!!!!  When he finally gave his notice, he was asked if electronics was too much for him, he could have a job as a cashier!!!  Imagine that!!!

My favorte part of this article is the statement that customers are tapped out and living check to check.  Um, Wal-Mart, that is because all good jobs went to China.
